8 DAYS TOUR FROM MARRAKECH

Day 1: From Marrakech to Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Our driver will pick you up from your Marrakech hotel and take you to Dades Gorge in the morning. Climbing the Tizi-in-Tichka pass (2260 m) in the high Atlas Mountains, stopping to photograph Berber settlements and enjoy the view. The Kasbah of Ait Ben-Haddou, a UNESCO world heritage site featured in Game of Thrones and Gladiator, will be our afternoon destination. It is famous in Morocco. The Atlas Film studio in Ouarzazate is visited after lunch at a Kasbah. Lawrence of Arabia, The Jewel of the Nile, The Mummy, Kingdom of Heaven, Asterix & Obelix, Mission Cleopatra, and others were shot here. Take a short walk to Morocco’s most beautiful defense, the Kasbah of Taourirt. Next, we’ll travel through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, the Skoura Valley, and the Roses Valley, noted for its rose water and small distilleries. This goes to Dades Gorges. You’ll stay at a Dades Valley hotel when we reach late afternoon.

Day 2: Dades Gorge – Todra Gorges – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi):

Explore the magnificent Dades Valley before heading to the Sahara Desert after breakfast. Through lush Dades Valley, abounding with palm trees and farms. Toudgha Gorges, 300 meters high, will be Tinghir’s first stop. Moroccan families and rock climbers frequent the river. You can see the river before our trip. Lunch at Tinjdad is scheduled. Experience Jorf village’s subterranean irrigation. Then they visited fossil-rich Arfod. The Merzouga Desert follows. This trail spans the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes. The biggest North African dunes. How quickly they rise from dry flooring is amazing. You may travel the sand dunes of Erg-Chebbi on a camel. A steep slope offers a stunning sunset. Photograph the sunset before going to the desert camp. After a great supper, local nomads will perform Berber music beneath a clear sky. The campers remain overnight.

Day 3: Today We Will Be Discovering the Desert and the Surroundings:

Our trip today will take us to the Erg Chebbi, which is the biggest dune system in Morocco’s desert. After breakfast, we’ll go to Khamlia town to see a dance show and listen to traditional African music called Gnawa. After that, we’ll cross the hamada (black desert) and head toward the town. There, we’ll stay with Berber nomad families in their huts and drink tea with them. You can find more ocean fossils in dry rock if you drive further into the desert. After that, go back to your hotel. After taking it easy at the hotel, you’ll get on your camel and ride across the tall Erg-Chebbi dunes. From the top of a high hill, you can see a beautiful sunset. You can enjoy the sunset and take pictures before you get to the desert camp. Nomads in the area will play Berber music for you to enjoy after a delicious dinner under the stars. We are going to camp tonight.

Day 4: Merzouga-Midelt-Ifrane – Fes:

Today, get up early to enjoy the desert morning. Return to Merzouga by donkey after breakfast. you’ll meet our driver and go to Fes. Locals sell food, livestock, and traditional costumes at the Rissani market, the first stop. You may explore the neighborhood here. Our next stop is Erfoud, known for its preserved cliffs. Joint fossils are our first destination. Our next stop is Ziz Valley to photograph its broad vistas. Lunch will be on schedule for Midelt. We’ll photograph the Cedarwoods bush monkeys in Azrou later. To travel to Fes, take Ifrane (“the Switzerland of Morocco”). Our driver will drop you off to your Fes Medina hotel.

Day 5: a local guide will show you around Fes Medina:

Your journey today will focus on Morocco’s mystical city with a native guide. You’ll meet your guide in the medina after breakfast and start your trip outdoors. From the Merenid tombs, Medina looks magnificent. After visiting the city’s main sites, explore the neighborhood’s stunning features, such as the marble Nejjarine Fountain, and see the 13th-century Medieval Schools (Medersas). Blue ceramics at the Bab Boujloud entry, the 14th-century Mellah in the Jewish Quarter, the Royal Palace Gate, and famous churches such the Quaraouiyine Mosque (built by Fatima el Fihri in 869) and the Andalusian Mosque After that, you’ll wander through winding lanes lined with skillfully woven Berber carpets and other Moroccan artifacts. Visit the pottery cooperative, Chouara’s large tanneries, and Medersa Seffarin to witness traditional Moroccan crafts. Metalwork and delicately painted architectural wonders are manufactured here. Spend the night at your riad.

Day 6: Fes, Meknes, Volubilis, Rabat and Casablanca:

After breakfast, our driver will pick you up at your Fes riad. Then drive to Meknes. Early stop: Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with Roman ruins. Photograph the amazing mosaics, sculptures, arches, and columns that have only been partly explored with a local guide. Meknes, with its beautiful medina and stunning doors like Bab Mansour, a massive mosaic gate, and the Heri es-Souani complex, which used to be stables and food stores, is the second stop. Continue to Sultan Moulay Isma’s tomb. Our next stop is Rabat’s Hassan Mosque and Tower. These 1200s buildings were incomplete when the Caliph died. Mausoleums honor Mohammed V (1961) and Hassan II (1999), recent Moroccan rulers. Enjoy the Moroccan statues and Zelig tilework. After, explore Oudaias Kasbah. We leave late afternoon for Casablanca. Hotel stay.

Day 7: Casablanca to Marrakesh:

Rabat, Morocco, is your destination after breakfast. Hassan II Mosque is near the Atlantic Ocean. The mosque has hand-made tiles and plaster sculptures, typical of Moroccan Islamic architecture. Before we depart for Marrakech, you may wander along the Corniche and see the Atlantic. The afternoon is free to explore Marrakesh and Djeema el Fna Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site. There are water, paint, snake charmers, and story sellers. Visit Morocco’s largest traditional souk. Craftsmen have worked with wood, metal, and spices safely there for years.
